I am walking from downtown Santa Barbara to the Rattlesnake Canyon. It will take me an hour before I get to the trailhead. On my way, I spot an island of plants and mailboxes.

It was just before the rain started. It came quite surprisingly, with rich drops falling from the sky. Santa Barbara doesn't get much rain before December. It seems that Albert Hammond wasn't right when he sang "It never rains in Southern California" back in 1974. But it's AS IF it never rained.

We were sitting in a balcony with my roommate, Robert, talking about the City College. Turned out it's located on a hill overlooking the ocean. "Come, take your camera!" We got into the car and drove down to the campus.
